Led by Brian Cobb who graduated from Australias premier film school AFTRS in 2011, Brian had two short films selected as part of the Cannes Film Festival's 'Cinemas Des Antipodes in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
In 2013, Screen Producers Australia chose Brian for their 'Ones To Watch' program and in December 2014 Screen Australia chose Brian in their early talent identification program, Enterprise People.
Cobbstar produces THE HORIZON digital series which is the most watched gay web-series in the world with over 75 million views globally. THE HORIZON has been nominated and won many festival awards for acting, writing, directing and also the coveted award for Best Series.
In July 2015, Screen Australia granted Cobbstar funds to produce a one-hour drama TV special. HORIZON, based on the digital series, attracted the signature of award-winning film writer/ director Stephan Elliott, the man behind the iconic film Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
In January 2016, Cobbstar produced their first feature film titled INDIGO LAKE, which had its theatrical release in April 2017 and became a festival darling around the world picking up many awards including Best Foreign Feature at the London Film Awards and Best Thriller at the L.A. Film Awards.
In 2017, MIP TV chose Cobbstars series PATRICIA MOORE as one of six projects globally to pitch in their digital series forum. This was closely followed by DREAM CHANNEL VR being chosen by the Cannes Film Festivals NEXT VR THEATRE which premiered in May 2017.
In May 2018, PATRICIA MOORE, a 10 x 10 digital series starring Danielle Cormack, Les Hill and Marlo Kelly, had its world premiere at Series Mania in France, where the series was in official competition. And in July 2018 PATRICIA MOORE won Best Aussie Drama at the Melbourne Webfest. The series won so many awards that it came third overall in the Web Series World Cup.
In September 2018, WHOS SEEN JESSICA BLOOM, an 8 x 1 hour long form drama series was chosen to pitch live at the Rome MIA Market and is now represented by WILD BUNCH TV in Paris.
